2009 Denver Broncos Schedule
Posted June 15, 2009 by Steve Janus
The Denver Broncos begin the Josh McDaniels and post-Jay Cutler era with three very winnable games right off the bat in 2009, but then things get very difficult. In an interesting twist, the Broncos play the previous six Super Bowl winners this season.
Denver also makes its first trip to two of the three current stadiums in the league in which it has never played: at Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium) and Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field).
And Monday Night Football sure does love this team, as Denver will make an appearance on MNF for the 18th year in a row. That is the longest active streak in the NFL.
While this club doesn’t look like a playoff team on paper, the team’s fate should be apparent in mid-November as the Broncos play three games in a span of 12 days from Nov. 15 through Nov. 26. At least two of those are home games.
That Dec. 13 game against the Colts is a chance for revenge as Indy has knocked the Broncos out of the playoffs three times in recent years.
For the fifth straight year the Broncos will begin their season on the road. Denver’s schedule ranks 19th overall in opponents’ 2008 winning percentage. At least Broncos fans can probably count on a Week 1 win against the Bengals as Denver is 16-8 all-time against Cincinnati.
Denver is +4000 on WagerWeb.com to win Super Bowl XLIV.
