This conference has always been competitive with the top 4-5 teams each year having great opportunities to win the title. Last year NIU beat Ohio U on a last second field goal in a great game. Southern Mississippi upset Houston last year and stopped the Cougars bid for an undefeated season and potential BCA bowl berth. This is a conference known for its playmakers.
