Pick Analysis:
Since BYU beat the Aztecs last month they have lost just once to New Mexico on the road. The Cougars are of course led by Player Of the Year candidate guard Jimmer Fredette. Few have slowed him down and he dropped 43 points in the win over the Aztecs last month. As you can see from the ATS record, as good as the Cougars have been all season long they haven’t been a very good bet for “investors”. Since losing to BYU last month the Aztecs have been perfect (7-0 SU/4-3 ATS). SDSU wins with talent, but it is nearly evenly distributed among several experienced players and they play smartly as a unit. People may want to discount the Mountain West Conference but this is a huge game. It was moved to national TV on CBS and the winner could easily be a #1 seed on selection Sunday. If you ask me, I think it is possible they could both deserve that honour though that seems like too heady territory for anyone that makes those decisions to consider. The Aztecs have yet to lose at home this season at 13-0 and have been a solid bet there as well (7-4 ATS). I think those winning ways will continue. Trends I like for this one include Aztecs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. Are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, and are 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Score will be around SDSU 75 – BYU 70.
