Born in Canada, hockey has always been a part of my life. I started playing hockey at the age of 6, and have been playing, watching and living hockey ever since. In recent years, betting on hockey games has been my passion.
Like every kid that laces up the skates, I always dreamed of playing in the NHL. I started playing minor hockey in Red Deer, Alberta and was fortunate enough to play major junior for my home town Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. I steadily improved and played for Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 1999.
Later in 1999 I was invited to the Vancouver Canucks camp and landed an entry level contract. I went on to play in Vancouver’s minor league system for the next 3 years, managing to suit up for 5 games with the Canucks.
In 2002 the Canucks traded me to the Toronto Maple Leafs and I found myself in St. John’s, NF. The most fun I had playing hockey was on ‘The Rock’! I played in the Maple Leafs system for the next 5 seasons, with the St. John’s ‘Baby Leafs’ and the Toronto Marlies. I played one game with the Maple Leafs in 2004. This was special because the Leafs were my Dad’s favorite team growing up.
In 2008 I decided to take my career over to Europe. My brother Greg was playing in Germany (DEL) and we had never played on the same hockey team before, we only played against each other. Going to Germany was our opportunity to play on the same team, and even the same line. I have always looked up to Greg, and it has been great playing on the same team.
I have a beautiful wife, and I love her more than anything. I also have a son, who is a very mentally tough young man, and he means the world to me.
I owe everything in my life to the game of hockey. I know my professional playing career will not last forever, and I am excited about new challenges. I am happy to be a part of the Sports Capping team, and bring my hockey expertise to the sports betting world!
