La Angels -121 at 5DIMES |
in 1d |
| Take: (930) LOS ANGELES ANGELS Reason: Last place Cleveland is a long way from home, with the third worst offense in the AL. Erratic Justin Masterson (5-12, 5.01 ERA) is getting too much respect with this betting line. Masterson's start was pushed to Tuesday, as he had to go home to deal with a family matter. This could be Masterson's final start of the season, as the club is mulling moving him to the bullpen to limit his innings count. Trevor Bell of the Angels has been very good, with a 3.63 ERA his last three starts and the Indians haven't seen him in 2010. Play the LA Angels. |

MLB | Sep 05, 2010 San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers |
Los Angeles Dodgers -131 at 5DIMES |
Lost $131.0 |
| The Giants closed the gap to just two games in teh NL West as the Padres lost their 9th straight game and the Giants made a improbably 9th inning comeback against the Dodgers. Juan Uribe hit a two-run homer off Dodgers closer Jonathon Broxton in the top of 9th inning and Brian Wilson got out of a jam in the bottom half of the 9th to get the big win for the Giants. It was a rude welcome back for Broxton who was making his first appearance as the Dodgers closer since August 21t. Jonathan Sanchez will start for the Giants tonight with his 9-8 record and 3.54 ERA. Sanchez got a no decision last time out despite taking a shutout into the 9th inning against the Rockies. Sanchez has been very inconsistent this season, evidenced by his one run performance last time out and five run even two games ago. Sanchez also ranks second in the NL in walks with 77. Hiroki Kuroda stats for the Dodgers and is 10-11 this season with a 3.39 ERA. Kuroda is 5-4 at home with a 3.15 ERA and .242 opposing batting average. Kuroda has won his last two starts, allowing four earned runs in 14 2/3 innings. Even though the Dodgers are out of playoff contention, they relish the prospect of dealing any blow to the Giants hopes. When these two clubs meet, you can be assured that the Dodgers will do all they can to ruin the Giants day. Take the Dodgers here on Sunday evening. | ||

NCAA-F | Sep 05, 2010 SMU vs. Texas Tech |
Texas Tech -13½-110 at BETUS |
Lost $110.0 |
| SMU steps up in class here, and they haven't done that well because of a soft defense. The defense allowed 29 ppg last season, and SMU ranked 88th in the country against the run and in the 5 losses gave up at 30 points in each one. Texas Tech goes from pass-happy Mike Leach to Tommy Tuberville. Eight starters return on offense including all the key receivers, RB Baron Batch, and two good quarterbacks in Taylor Potts (22 TDs, 13 picks and 3,440 yards) and Steven Sheffield (14 TDs, 4 picks). Tuberville named Taylor Potts as the starting quarterback for the Red Raiders’ season opener against SMU on Sept. 5. Tuberville brings in new offensive coordinator Neal Brown, 29, who spent the last four years at Troy, running wide-open offenses, mostly passing. Senior RB Baron Batch (884 yards, 5.3 ypc last fall) also caught 57 passes for 395 yards. Texas Tech is 44-7 SU, 28-17 ATS its last 54 home games and destroyed SMU, 43-7, just two years ago. Look for a big win by the home team for the new coach. Play Texas Tech. | ||
