After one of the most exciting NFC East seasons in recent memory, 2008 looks to be even better. With the reigning Super Bowl Champion N.Y. Giants geared for a return trip, the other feisty teams (Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington) in the division will be looking to unseat the 2007 champs. While many of you may think this is going to be a tight race since three teams were playoff bound last year (everyone but Philly), I on the other hand believe it's going to be easy to pick the winner.

The break even point when betting - 110 lines with football is 52.38 %. If you can pick winners above the break even point, then you will be a winner at the end of the football season. I am going to try and help you select the right time and correct number to bet on for you to win above the break even point. When to bet and why ? If you are going to bet on the underdog, you should try to lay your bet as late as possible. Most people like to bet on the favorites and if most of the money is bet on the favorite, then the book will move the line to make it more attractive to bet on the dog. Most recreational bettors flock to favorites, and why not, as they are the team that should win. When betting on the favorite, you should bet right when the line comes out. The longer you wait, the higher that number becomes.

In today’s double header between the Nationals and the Rockies, you have to play Colorado on the run line in game one. The Nationals are just 6-11 since the All Streak break and send to the field one of the worst offenses in baseball. Washington, which is just 19-38 on the road, is ranked last in the National League in batting average and runs scored. It doesn’t get much better on the pitching side of things either. The Nationals send Jason Bergmann to the hill. Bergmann posts a 1-8 record and has given up 18 homeruns in just 99 2/3 innings, which benefits the Rockies as we all know how the ball carries in Colorado. On top of that the Nationals have just won 3 of 17 games in which Bergmann starts the game. The Nationals are struggling, and look for that to continue.
