Today the College Basketball Picks world looks to the Final Four teams left in the Tournament. When looking at the trends of all final four and championship games played since 1996 it shows that favorites are 25-14 SU and 20-19 ATS (15-10 SU and 12-14 ATS in the Semis and 9-4 SU and 8-5 ATS in the Championship Game). Analysing this part of the NCAAB Picks season there are certainly some situations that have been historically strong that we can look to exploit this year.
Today we have #1 seed North Carolina installed as 7 point favorite over the #3 seed Villanova Wildcats and #1 seed Connecticut listed as a 4 point favorite over #2 seed Michigan St. So that we might get a good NCAAB Picks angle for today let's take an historical look at the seeds: Seeds Listed as a favorite since 1996: - 1 seeds as favorites are 12-11 ATS - 2 seeds as favorites are 4-6 ATS - 3 seeds as favorites are 2-0 ATS Seeds Listed as an Underdog since 1996: - 1 seeds as dogs are 8-5 ATS - 2 seeds as dogs are 1-3 ATS - 3 seeds as dogs are 5-4 ATS Seed Matchups since 1996: - 1 seeds favored over another 1 seed are 3-6 ATS - 1 seeds favored over 2 seeds are 2-0 ATS - 1 seeds favored over 3 seeds are 1-2 ATS - 2 seeds favored over 3 seeds are 3-3 ATS So outside of the seedings and their historical performances let's now take a look at home teams have faired when looking at pointspread ranges: Pointspread ranges: - Favorites of 3 points or less are 6-7 ATS - Favorites of 3.5 to 6.5 points are 12-5 ATS - Favorites of 7 to 9.5 points are 2-5 ATS - Double digit favorites are 0-2 ATS No doubt there will be more information from the "experts", some of which has no relevance to handicapping a profitable Final Four Picks.
