In layman terms, a teaser is a parlay bet that uses modified point spreads. In football, the most common modification is six points. So let’s say this week there are two bets you like: Jets -7.5, Raiders +1.5. Rather than betting these straight or in a parlay, you could make a two team six point teaser bet of Jets -1.5, Raiders +7.5. To win the bet, you’ll need both teams to cover. Teaser odds vary from site to site. When betting six point football teasers, you want to find NFL 2 team 6 point teasers at -110 or better. The rules for pushes are generally the same at each site. If a leg in a teaser pushes while any other leg is a loss, the teaser bet is graded a loss. A push and a win would result in no action and bets are refunded. Let’s use 2 team 6 point (-110) teasers. As you might already know, to break even at -110 you need to win 52.38% of your bets. The formula used to calculate this is risk divided by return, where return equals stake plus win. It's nearly impossible to pick a perfect bracket for the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament.  But, there are ways you can improve your chances of picking the best possible bracket.   We looked deep into the history of March Madness to find our 15 top tips for picking a winning bracket.  All records referenced are from the modern era - after 1985 - unless otherwise noted. Tip 1: Pick #1 & #2 Seeds to Win in the First Round This is pretty standard.  No top seed has ever lost to a #16 seed and just 7 of 120 (5.8%) #15 seeds have pulled off an upset over a #2 seed. Tip 2: Take One #13 or #14 Seed to Advance to the Second Round These seeds have a combined winning percentage of 17.92% in the first round.  That's just over one per year and it has happened at least once in 25 of the last 30 tournaments. It seems like even people who do not bet very often understand what a point spread means and how to bet on one.  Most shops will just force you to lay $11 for every $10 you want to win.     But, a lot of bettors start to get confused and want to know how to understand American money line odds.     Today, I’m going to make it easy for you understand this concept and hopefully add another type of wager to your arsenal that will help you build your bankroll.   To illustrate let’s look at an example.  Most places will list three types of odds for a basketball game:   NBA Basketball Spread Money Line Total Points 701 Miami Heat -3.5 -110 -165 o198 -110 702 Orlando Magic +3.5 -110 +145 u198 -110   Each row gives you three possible bets you can make on the game: spread, money line and total points (the over/under).    The spread and total point columns don’t just list the total and the spread, they also list -110 after.
