Capitals vs. Hurricanes Picks & Prediction

The price is fair to back the defending Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes at home in a good spot.

Carolina opened with a classic defensive game against Florida this past Tuesday. The Panthers edged the Hurricanes, 1-0, in overtime. Carolina certainly does not want to open the season 0-2 with both losses at home.

The visiting Capitals have been idle during the first three days of the league's season. The Hurricanes not only have urgency, but the advantage of having a game behind them while Washington has yet to play.

While the Hurricanes won the championship, the Capitals missed the playoffs entirely. The Capitals believe they have re-tooled adding firepower. But it is going to take them time to gel. So this is a good time for the Hurricanes to draw Washington.
