Returning Horned Frogs head coach, Sonny Dykes stands across the field from 8X Super Bowl Champion (6X as a head coach, 2X as an assistant coach) Bill Belichick. Dykes' Horned Frogs finished last season winning and covering their final four games. They bring back sophomore quarterback, Josh Hoover, who threw for nearly 4,000 yards in 2017 TD’s a season ago. He has a talented bunch around him, despite losing a couple of his top receivers. For the Tar Heels, Belichick brought in Sunbelt gunslinging quarterback, Gio Lopez. There are also a lot of new faces on the North Carolina roster. Reports are there is a ton of talent on this squad. Without question, both teams can score points, and light up the scoreboard. Also, without question, both teams on the defensive side of the ball, need improvement from last season. But, on the first contest for both squads of the 2025/2026 campaign, it is shaping up to look like a high-scoring affair. I feel this game will be a barnburner, so much so they might need to change the lightbulbs in the scoreboard after the game. TCU must come out and make a statement that they are the same team here that finished last season strong, while Belichick and his boys, must come out and prove that it wasn't Tom Brady that gave him all those championships. Take the over. Thank you.
FRANK’S CUTTING ROOM FLOOR FOR MONDAY, 9/1
My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Monday is with Under the Total in the game between TCU and North Carolina. North Carolina (0-0) is expected to be a heavy run team with dual threat quarterback Gio Lopez with plenty of 12 and 13 personnel heavy sets relying on multiple tight ends on the field. Head coach Bill Belichick wants to win games with defense and not making mistakes. The Tar Heels have played five of their last seven games under the number with the Total set in the 49.5 to 56 point range. They have also played 7 of their last 10 games against teams outside the ACC. TCU (0-0) has an explosive offense — and Belichick will want to slow this game down to keep the Horned Frogs’ experienced quarterback Josh Hoover off the field. The Horned Frogs have played 5 of their last 6 games Under the Total with the Total set in the 49.5 to 56 point range. Head coach Sonny Dykes’ teams have played 8 of the 12 games on the road with the Total set in the 49.5 to 56 point range Under the Total in his career. Take the Under. Best of luck — Frank.
