Nothing against MacKenzie Gore, who is rapidly becoming an ace. But the Nationals have no business being a favorite in this range. They are on the verge of being swept by Miami after losing the first two games of this series as favorites.
Washington has lost seven in a row. The Nationals have scored 3 or fewer runs in 10 of their 12 games this month while going 2-10 so far in June.
It's hard to put a good spin on the Marlins because they are bad. However, they have a promising pitcher going, Eury Perez. He's healthy now after missing last season. As a rookie in 2023, Perez had a 3.15 ERA and struck out 108 batters in 91 1/3 innings. So the upside is there.
(Editor's note: Stephen Nover has been perfect the past two days on his premium/free baseball plays and is 6-1 on his last seven WNBA plays. Stephen has premium WNBA plays and a baseball play today in addition to this free selection. He also is 11-3-1 on his last 15 Multi-Sports Packages.)
Sunday's MLB Free Pick
PLAY ON: Washington Nationals -1.5 (+130)
Ricky's 1* play on WSH.
Key Angle: It's important to remember that Ricky never makes a bet on any game based on just one angle. In order to make the grade, all his premium picks must meet several important criteria. He doesn't share all his secrets within his analysis, instead he chooses to reveal only the angle that he feels is the most significant. Here in this game the recent history of these two teams is particularly significant.
- Miami is 4-8 SU in its last 12 games.
- Miami is 5-11 SU in its last 16 games against an opponent in the National League.
- Eury Perez has loss 3 of his last 3 starts for the Marlins.
Verdict: The value is on the Home favorite.
